Apparently i let my bulbs Go too far... lol

Yeah, after that BRS spotlight that suggested you could run some bulbs as long as 18 months I thought I'd save myself some money and couldn't figure out why my corals started to brown...

can you give the dimensions for each as well? Need that to locate but also to ensure I can move them in. Also, how easy are they to clean given the residue that some mixes leave?

    Feedback on timers

thanks guys, I guess I"m older or more stubborn than I look, still resisting the ease of the apex. I bought one a while back but ended up selling it to Luigi when I got frustrated with the set up and the reason I bought it for was otherwise solved (notification when power goes off, addressed by...

    Blue Barrel source of phosphates?

As we rack our brains trying to figure out where the phosphate is coming from, has anyone asked themselves if it's really worth it for such a small amount? I know we'd rather get our phosphates naturally than through a water change, but I can't imagine a bit of TDS is going to make a big...

    Feedback on timers

Hey everyone. Curious what kinds of timers you use, those of you that don't have programmable lights that is. I've always used those digital timers from home depot, you know the ones that have the 4 outlets on the left that are timer controlled and 4 on the right that are on all the time...

    A Good nitrate test kit

I've always used salifert and have been satisfied. I don't check nitrate often but it does show lower levels. It's a colour palete though so it's not very exact but I think good enough for most purposes.

    Check out the chalice

I love the look of a chalice, so otherworldly. I unfortunately haven't had much luck with them or acans, I think it was the copperband I had at the time. Maybe I'll try again. Where are you located, and do the names and prices align with the pictures? If so I'll take a frag of the first and...

    Ph record!

sounds like too much hot air, eh? On a serious note, I can't remember the last time I tested pH, without an apex isn't a little more manual of a process. I can't remember his name but there was an especially outspoken and occasionally obnoxious guy on the original forum that maintained that pH...

    Blue Barrel source of phosphates?

Yeah Luke, that's what I was thinking, let the RO sit for a while and see if phosphate leaches in from the barrel.

    My 350G display, 700G system...

Thanks everyone. Its changed a lot since people were last here, with some things thriving and other things not. This hobby can be very gratifying and very frustrating at times, I've learned the hard way to accept the ups and downs and just enjoy the amazing biodiversity that exists. I usually...
